How we handle your data

Edit PDF

Edit PDF: pick the right tool to add text, notes, signatures or page numbers, crop or reorder pages, and redact private details. Every tool works in your browser.

Choose an editing tool

Each tool opens on its own page and works on your device. Pick the change you need; you can pass the result on to the next tool.

Which tool changes what

Add Text, Annotate, Watermark, Add Logo, signatures, page numbers, headers and footers add new content on top of the page; they do not change or remove existing text. Only Redact PDF removes content: it deletes the text and image pixels under the areas you mark.

Crop PDF changes the visible area but keeps the content outside it in the file. Rotate and Organize change the page order or direction without changing page content. Edit PDF Metadata changes the document properties shown by PDF readers.

A practical guide

Edit a PDF in the right tool.

  1. Decide what you need to change: content on a page, or the pages themselves.
  2. Choose the matching tool from the list on this page.
  3. Open your PDF in that tool and download the edited copy.

Try this example

Add page numbers and a watermark to a 12-page contract, then switch to the redact tool to remove a phone number before sharing.

Before you start: This page is a guide to the tools and does not edit files itself. For private details, use redact rather than covering text with a shape.
