A practical guide
Cut one file into the parts you need.
- Add the PDF and choose a split mode in the options.
- Enter the page groups or the number of pages per part.
- Run the task and open the ZIP to check each part.
Try this example
Split a 30-page report with the groups 1-10; 11-20; 21-30. The ZIP holds three PDFs of ten pages each, and the original stays as it was.

Before you start: Splitting by bookmarks follows the document outline, not headings found on the page. Saving may invalidate signatures.

Split a PDF into pages, custom page groups, equal-sized parts or chapters from bookmarks.
Limits and important details
Bookmark mode: 10 MiB input, 200 pages, 40 chapters, 200 outline items, depth 8, 40 MiB output. Local destinations only; top-level starts must be distinct and increasing. Nested bookmarks must stay within their chapter and are remapped; bookmark styles/open state and document metadata are not preserved. Links within a chapter, comments and form fields are kept; links into another chapter are removed with a notice. Encryption and cross-chapter outlines are unsupported. Other modes: 200 files, 500 output pages, 60 MiB; links, bookmarks and form fields stay with their pages. Saving invalidates signatures. ZIP is not PDF input.
Example
Custom groups 1-2; 3-5; 6, 8 create three PDFs. In bookmark mode, chapter starts on pages 3 and 6 of an eight-page PDF produce front matter 1-2 and chapters 3-5 and 6-8. This uses bookmarks, not headings recognized from page text.
