How we handle your data

ODT to PDF

ODT to PDF for OpenDocument text files from LibreOffice and other editors, converted to a fixed-layout PDF on your device. Your file stays in your browser.

Choose your document

Choose an ODT file and convert it to PDF. The first conversion prepares the local Office engine and may take a moment; the next file on this page is faster.

Local limit: 10 MiB per document

Choose a document, then convert it to PDF.

Processing happens on this device. Keep this tab open until your PDF is ready.

Try an example

Two PDF pages: an amount of 148.50, English and Russian text and a table on the first page.

Download sample ODT

Select the downloaded sample and convert it. Two PDF pages: an amount of 148.50, English and Russian text and a table on the first page.

What to expect

Text, images and page layout are converted together. Fonts and complex formatting may differ from your Office editor; check your PDF before sharing.

Large documents may exceed your device’s available memory. If conversion fails, try a smaller document or another device.

Help with conversion

The converter does not start

Check your connection while the converter prepares itself, then retry. This converter needs a modern browser and sufficient memory.

My document could not be converted

Open the document in your editor and save a new ODT copy. Password-protected, damaged or unsupported files may fail. The input limit is 10 MiB and the PDF output limit is 20 MiB.

Processing takes too long

Preparing the converter stops after two minutes; conversion stops after one minute. You can cancel during processing and restart with a smaller document.

A practical guide

Save an ODT document as PDF.

  1. Open a document with the ODT extension.
  2. Start the conversion and wait for the PDF to be ready.
  3. Download the PDF and compare headings, tables and page breaks with the source.

Try this example

Convert an ODT thesis chapter written in LibreOffice Writer, then check that the footnotes and the figure captions stay on their pages.

Before you start: Some editor-specific features, such as tracked changes or linked fields, may look different. A missing font is replaced, which can shift line breaks.
