How we handle your data

PDF to Excel

PDF to Excel for tables in text-based PDFs: detected tables are saved as an XLSX workbook, one table per sheet, on your device. Files stay in your browser.

Small converter download on first use.

PDF · up to 10 MiB and 200 pages. Text-based PDFs; OCR is not included.

The workbook should contain one sheet with four rows and three columns. Cell C4 should contain 148.50. Values are saved as text to preserve their original spelling.

What to expect

For PDFs with embedded text and regular table rows. Scans need OCR first. Detection can miss tables or place text in the wrong cell; compare the downloaded file with your PDF. Merged cells and original formatting are not reconstructed.

Each table becomes its own CSV file or Excel sheet. Values remain text. CSV values that could be interpreted as formulas are prefixed with an apostrophe; Excel cells are explicitly stored as text. When importing CSV into a spreadsheet, choose text columns to preserve leading zeros and number formatting.

Up to 10 MiB input, 200 pages, 100 tables, 100,000 cells, 256 columns and 8 MiB output. Processing stops after 30 seconds. Irregular rows are rejected rather than silently shifted.

The first run may download converter files and take a moment. If it fails, check your connection or try a smaller file. Cancel stops active processing; you can choose another file and retry.

A practical guide

Move PDF tables into a workbook.

  1. Open a PDF whose text can be selected.
  2. Run table detection and wait for the result.
  3. Download the workbook and check each sheet against the PDF page.

Try this example

Convert a PDF bank statement with one table of dates and amounts, then open the workbook and compare the last row with the page.

Before you start: Scanned tables are not recognized here. Merged cells and tables without clear lines may split in the wrong place, and values are saved as text.
