Split PDF Pages in Half

Split book spreads into single pages: each wide scanned page becomes a left and a right page. Choose the split line and reading order.

Six landscape spreads have distinct LEFT and RIGHT labels. Splitting should produce twelve pages in the selected reading order.

A practical guide

Separate two facing pages into two pages.

  1. Add a PDF whose pages are scanned as two-page spreads.
  2. Set the split position and the reading order in the options.
  3. Run the task and check that no text is cut at the split line.

Try this example

A scan of a 20-page booklet has 10 wide pages, each holding two facing pages. After the split the file has 20 single pages in reading order.

Before you start: The split hides the other half of the page but does not remove it from the file. Links are kept on the half where they sit; comments and form fields are imprinted or removed. Limit: 10 MiB and 200 pages.

Arrange the separated pages
What you get

Split each wide page into left and right pages. Choose the split position and reading order. Hidden content is clipped, not securely removed.
