A practical guide

Move PDF text into a notes file.

  1. Add a PDF with selectable text.
  2. Choose the Markdown output.
  3. Run the task and open the file in a text editor.

Try this example

Export a 6-page policy as Markdown and paste it into a team wiki. Each page appears as a separate block, so you can find where it began.

Before

  • PDF: Hello

After

  • Page heading + literal text block
Input and expected output for this task. Illustrative example.

Example .md file

## Page 1

    Hello from the PDF.

Selectable source text: Hello from the PDF.

Before you start: Headings, tables and images are not rebuilt. The text is kept in code blocks, and pages without text are labelled. No OCR.

What you get

Export embedded text as literal Markdown code blocks grouped by page. No reconstruction of headings, tables, images or original layout. Empty-text pages are labelled; no OCR. Limits: 10 MiB input, 200 pages, 4 MiB output.

Limits and important details

Maximum 10 MiB input, 200 pages and 4 MiB text output. Scanned documents without a text layer report an error instead of a fake successful extraction. Reading order, columns and fonts may not match visual layout. This is not OCR or PDF-to-Word.

Example

Export selectable report text to .md. Page headings are generated; the PDF text stays literal inside code blocks rather than becoming executable HTML or inferred tables. Review reading order before reuse.
